About this resource
A position description should match the real role, and link to the skills and qualifications it requires. Edit it for each service. It covers purpose, duties, reporting lines, requirements, competencies and what success looks like.

- Complete it at the time, in plain and respectful language.
- Check a sample regularly and add any improvements to your Continuous Improvement Register.
Accessibility considerations
Clear tables with room to write. The Word version can be filled in on screen.
Scope and limitations
An editable template and practical record. It is not legal advice and does not by itself show that a provider meets the NDIS Practice Standards. Check it against the current Practice Standards, NDIS rules, your registration groups and your state or territory's laws, and adapt it to how your service really works.
Research basis
The NDIS worker screening rules require records of risk assessed roles and of each worker's screening check, kept for 7 years, and the Practice Standards require documented induction (including the NDIS worker orientation module), training, infection control training and supervision. The NDIS Code of Conduct applies to all NDIS providers and workers. The Commission's guidance covers acting with respect, privacy, safe and competent supports, integrity, raising concerns, preventing violence, neglect, abuse and exploitation, and preventing sexual misconduct.
