About this resource
The Practice Standards require perceived and actual conflicts of interest to be managed and documented. Providers of SDA, and SIL providers who are also the participant's landlord, must also make their conflict of interest policies available to participants in a way they understand. This resource has a declaration covering common NDIS conflicts and a register recording how each one is managed and how participants were told.
Purpose
To proactively identify, document and manage conflicts of interest.

Client or participant group: Registered NDIS providers: directors, quality and compliance staff, house and team leaders.

Accessibility considerations

Scope and limitations
A practical record-keeping tool. It is not legal advice and does not by itself show that a provider meets the NDIS Practice Standards. Check it against the current Practice Standards, NDIS rules and your registration groups, and adapt it to your own policies.
Research basis
Registered NDIS providers are audited against the quality indicators of the NDIS Practice Standards, which call for documented risk, quality, information, incident, complaints and human resource systems, a program of internal audits and continuous improvement; this tool helps organise that evidence but does not by itself demonstrate compliance. Specialist disability accommodation providers must meet the SDA Conditions Rule and the SDA module of the Practice Standards, including agreements that follow tenancy law, managed conflicts of interest, vacancy processes, well-maintained dwellings and documented arrangements with SIL providers.
